Susan Leigh Sieweke, author of the comical, yet entertaining book, Things Church Girls Don’t Talk About was  raised by a Southerner, "Mama Dot" who taught her to shell butter beans with the best of them and to say pithy things like, "Bless your heart" and "O' dem golden slippers," while drinking a glass of sweet tea, of course.

As to things that have motivated her writing, Susan says, "boredom,  parenthood, bullies, injustice, adoption, spiritual abuse and God--and definitely not in that order." Other than the skill with the butter beans, she has worked as counselor, program manager, teacher and speaker and musician.
